Last night I attended a Summer Solstice Chakra Retreat and it was P•O•W•E•R•F•U•L.
I went into it with some resistance, but mostly intrigue. Seems silly now, but I questioning if I was opening myself to anti-Christian beliefs. There were no demonic spirits or worshipping Buddha, but rather learning how to turn inward. God created our amazing bodies, energy and all.
I'm learning how to feel again. I was raised, like many, to stuff feelings. Stay in your head, not in your heart.
Our best ideas do not stem from our mind at all, but from our heart. It is what we feel that drives our actions and what we think. When we are disconnected from what we feel, we are disconnected from our authentic self.
Perfection prevents connection. Vulnerability is allowing ourselves to be seen as we really are, imperfections and all. Distractions, culture, and societal pressures of perfection and acceptance keep us in our heads and out of our hearts.
Being able to quiet our mind is then the most important skill to master which ultimately leads us on a journey of self-awareness. Seeking fulfillment from anyone or anywhere but ourselves is a great disservice to ourselves and to the people that need us to show up in their lives.
What is fulfillment? Living our life in alignment with our individual calling and purpose.
Perfection ➡️ Vulnerability ➡️ Self-Awareness ➡️ Fulfillment
