Do you struggle with headaches or migraines?
Before you pop that pill, there are ways you can use your body's natural healing properties to fight it off or, at the very least, lessen the pain.
I had a Naturopathic Doctor as the guest speaker on my Mastermind call last week. She recommended a couple different naturopathic ways to fight off a headache with the help of the lymphatic system. An often ignored part of our body, the lymphatic system is an integral part of our health. Without a pumping mechanism like our cardiovascular system has with the heart, our lymphatic system sometimes needs some help moving things (aka toxins) along.
Some helpful tricks:
Take a shower and at the end turn it as cold as you can stand for at least 30 seconds.
Soak your feet in hot water and put an ice pack on your head.
Get cotton socks wet and freeze them. Then, before bed, put them on (after defrosting a bit) and then put wool socks over. As you sleep that will help your lymphatic system pump through your body. (Also helpful when you feel flu-like symptoms.)
While these things may give you temporary relief, headaches and migraines are a signal that something is wrong.
There is no quick-fix. We have to address the root cause instead of using a bandaid (or pill) for the problem. I have helped clients suffering from headaches and migraines by changing their eating habits and figuring out their trigger. If you feel like you have tried everything and nothing is giving you relief, I would love to give it a try. Apply for your Discovery Session. What do you have to lose?
